Environmental re-modelling of a quarry

The Spea design activities concerned the restoration of the initial morphological conditions which characterised a quarry site.

The study of the existing vegetation and the overall environmental morphology enabled the quarry to be re-modelled in the most natural possible way.

It was necessary to study a drainage channel at the toe of the backfill and the planting of vegetation to reinstate the situation prior to the quarrying activities.
A virtual simulation enabled the outcome of the design with respect to certain individual points (buildings) and local roads to be checked and recalibrated.
